RAIFORD STARKE BAND LIVE SHOW BIO
Raiford Starke is everyone’s favorite “Renegade”. He
walks a thin line with a lightning bolt attached by a guitar, An American
guitar bought in 1966 from Sears and Roebuck. The all-original red sunburst
Silvertone, aka WMD (Weapon of Mass Distortion!)
Hardly
a Set List in sight, The Raiford Starke Band lights the crowd on fire with not
just talent but “Mega Talent”. From rock to roots, to his bands funky Florida
swamp expertise, then on to Flat Pickin’ Country and into at times, “An Urban
Cow Punk Mayhem”.
Someone once described them as a Freight Train barreling
down the tracks out of control but always staying on course. Musicians that see
them recognize the bands talent with there mouths stuck wide open at first and
later on in the evening there up on stage jamming if they think they can hang.
First time Starkaneers and regulars get epiphanies that they’re in the presence
of something great and can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next.
Funky charismatic Bassist Steve Grandmaison
yells to a fan in crowd “there is no amount of money that could make us play
that song!” The next thing you know
they launch into the fans request and the fun shifts back into high gear.
Some call Raiford
“the Human Juke Box”. They will tell you it’s all about having fun with the
crowd and not taking yourself too seriously.
Not that these guys
aren’t serious. They are serious ‘PRO’S!”
When they’re on “the
large concert stage” supporting a national tour, people latch on to their
performance driven original tunes and know they’re getting a bonus to their
concert ticket “ala the real deal”, then on to the merchandise stand for a
shirt or CD.
All in all
whatever your musical pleasure, you can always find it at a Raiford Starke
Show.
